This Privacy Policy explains how Rush Diamonds (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects information about you when you use this website or request a valuation. We are the data controller for personal data we process and we comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

Rush Diamonds is a family-run buyer of gold, silver, jewellery and watches based in the UK, working alongside our retail sister business Little Gem Jewellers(31a Meeting House Lane, The Lanes, Brighton).

2. What data we collect

  • Quote-form details - name, phone number, email address, preferred contact method, the items you want to sell, your description, and any photo you choose to upload.
  • Correspondence - messages you send us by phone, WhatsApp, SMS or email.
  • Technical data - IP address, device type, browser, pages viewed and referrer. Collected only with consent via cookies (see section 7).

3. Why we use it (lawful basis)

  • To provide your valuation and respond to your enquiry - lawful basis: performance of pre-contractual steps at your request.
  • To follow up about your valuation - lawful basis: legitimate interest (responding to people who have asked us to).
  • Marketing measurement (e.g. ad conversion tracking) - lawful basis: your consent via the cookie banner.
  • Legal & compliance - anti-money-laundering checks where required, fraud prevention, accounting.

4. How long we keep it

Quote enquiries are retained for up to 24 months from your last contact, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Records required for legal/accounting reasons are kept for up to 7 years as required by HMRC.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with:

  • service providers acting on our behalf (e.g. hosting, email);
  • advertising platforms (Google, Meta) in aggregated/hashed form for conversion measurement - only with your consent;
  • law enforcement or regulators where legally required.

6. How we protect it

Submissions are transmitted over HTTPS. Access to lead data is restricted to members of our team who need it to respond to you. Photos you send are stored securely and deleted with the rest of your record per section 4.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies that the site needs to function. With your consent we also use analytics and advertising cookies (e.g. Google Ads, Meta Pixel) to measure the performance of our paid campaigns. You can change your choice at any time by clearing cookies for this site.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased where there is no overriding reason to keep it;
  • restrict or object to processing;
  • data portability;
  • withdraw consent at any time.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) - ico.org.uk.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent revision.
